Every node counts by its purity: impure 1, normal 2, pure 4. A spot only scores fully when every resource in the mix is inside the radius, so a place with ten pure iron nodes and no coal will not top the steel list. Terrain, cliffs and creatures are not part of the score, so take a look before you start building.
